Beschreibung

"The VW Beetle has seduced many a first time buyer, collector and classic car enthusiast. And for obvious reasons; the parts network are many and inexpensive, the ability to convert the base model into many different variants was always available and the cost of the car itself presented a gateway into classic car ownership. In fact, Wilhelm Karmann first applied himself into converting his own Beetle into the four seat convertible we all know and love today.
Owned for over 15 years by the current owner and kept in his Southern French house, just for fun, he has ensured it has been kept up to scratch at all times. In fact a Nice-based, VW specialist stripped the body off the chassis, in 2009, and replaced and repaired as necessary, WaxOyling as he went. The 1650cc engine was rebuilt with performance in mind. Completely stripped, it received high-lift cams and a high compression cylinder head alongside larger carburettor jets, ported cylinders and an extractor manifold leading to a sports exhaust.  The chocolate brown interior has been retrimmed with parts from VW Heritage in Shoreham. The soft-top is also brown vinyl neatly covered with a matching brown hood-bag. A mahogany, three-spoke steering wheel and hidden stereo completes the comfortable interior with alloy wheels shod with virtually new Yokohama rubber keeping things under control. Go on, enjoy yourself."
