EXTERIOR
Presented in Iconic Mars Red, the paint finish retains a glow and lustre that can only be attributed to the most cared for examples. Resplendent in it’s original coat of paint from factory, the in-house team have worked diligently to extract the best finish possible. Trim and surrounds have endured remarkably well; still soft to touch and exhibiting good fit and finish. The bumpers have survived very well whilst the fitted arches present as they should.

As original and as desirable as Mk2’s get in our eyes.

INTERIOR
The appearance, touch and smell of this Mk2 are like taking a step back to 1989 – the only thing not included is the cassette with your album of choice! The seats and door cards display zero sagging or wear, with plastics and switch gear retaining next to new feel and operation. Sunroof operation is clean and swift, with no unnecessary mechanical whine, while the headlining is taught with no sagging to report.

Completely original and as the factory intended.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Having enjoyed a healthy service routine with both the main dealer, and latterly local specialists, the car is in excellent health; largely thanks to the most recent service which included a rocker cover gasket and timing belt kit just 300 miles ago.

The car displays plenty of character and enthusiasm on test, with drivetrain and engine in perfect working harmony.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The standard 14″ alloy wheels are in very good condition, all shod in matching Goodyear rubber with plenty of tread remaining.

The brakes are in perfect working order pulling the car up in a nice straight line.

HISTORY FILE
Registered by Newbourne Garages in the Summer of 1985 to a Mr G Dyson the car would remain in original ownership until early last year where his nephew would assume title.

Complete with a Full book pack, Original service book and all Invoicing from new the file certainly makes for pleasing reading. With Full main dealer history to 2006 and 51k miles the car has since been used sparingly over the last 10 years or so with the last Full service carried out in November of ’17 to include Gear bush kit, Leads, Plugs and a new Battery.

The file is accompanied by various MOT certificates and two spare keys.
