Beschreibung
Well known through the TV series Simon Templar, played by ultra-suave Roger Moore, the Volvo P 1800 appeared on screen in a near record 118 episodes. “Our” P 1800 S, despite being painted in the same colour, is not the car used for filming but stems from the later Swedish production providing better quality. The “S” in the model designation stands for Sweden and not for Sport as many assume. With its first registry in December 1965 the Volvo was delivered to Italy where, according to the original libretto, it was enjoyed by 4 owners. Around eight years ago an extensive restoration and overhaul was commissioned by the G. & T. Auto SRL in Villorba (TV). In October 2016 the beautiful Swede was taken over by the vendor and imported and registered in Switzerland. Since then, the Coupé spent most of its life in airconditioned environment and over the last five years was only driven 500 kilometres. As a result, the P 1800 is in outstanding condition with the 1.8 litre 4-cylinder engine running perfectly and the four-speed gearbox shifting without any issues. Coachwork and interior present themselves near perfect. The last Veteran MOT was completed in October 2018.
