The Triumph TR6 was manufactured for seven years, starting in 1969, and by the time production came to an end in July 1976, it was the best-seller of the TR range. The bodywork closely resembled that of the previous model, the Triumph TR5, but the front and rear were squared off and all TR6s featured inline six-cylinder engines. For the US market, the engine was fitted with carburettors whilst, for other world markets including the UK, the TR6 was fitted with fuel-injection. It featured a four-speed manual gearbox, independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, 15" wheels and tyres, pile carpet on the floors and boot, bucket seats and a full complement of instruments. In total, 94,619 TR6s were built of which 86,249 were sold overseas and only 8,370 were sold in the UK.

The car we have here is beautifully presented in Sapphire blue with a black interior and a new navy blue mohair hood, which was recently fitted. The most recent owner of the car purchased it in 2001, keeping it in his possession for 23 years, six of which the car resided with him in Guernsey, returning to the UK mainland in 2020. Whilst in Guernsey, the body was removed and extensive chassis works were undertaken, photos of which are included in the history file. Despite being a later 'CR' example, this TR6 is fitted with an earlier and more sought after 150bhp 'CP' engine, a very welcome addition. A reconditioned gearbox and overdrive were fitted in 2020, an upgraded Bosch fuel pump in 2017 and also the addition of electronic ignition. The car is fitted with Wolfrace alloy wheels and has a full stainless steel exhaust system.
