Conditions
Currently the best rally car ever produced together with the Lancia family. Subaru Impreza STi Solberg: The Subaru Impreza STi Petter Solberg, produced in only 200 units, is undoubtedly the car closest to the exciting world of rallying available on the market. More technology and a champion's look, the Impreza STi Petter Solberg differs from the version regularly on sale for some details that further improve its look and take its dynamic potential to the extreme.
The 265 HP of the two-liter turbocharged boxer engine, in fact, are now discharged to the ground by a renewed version of the Symmetrical AWD all-wheel drive system which, thanks to the adoption of the new DCCD electronic central differential with manual or automatic control, allows for a more precise distribution of the driving torque between the two axles.
The activation of the functions related to the new DCCD differential is done by means of special selectors and can be kept under control thanks to the indications offered by a sequence of LEDs arranged between the fuel gauge and the coolant temperature gauge.
The innovations certainly do not end here, because the shock absorbers have been completely revised, thanks also to the suggestions of the technicians of the Prodrive team, and control the movement of the new 17-inch light alloy wheels with Bridgestone Potenza tyres in size 225/45 R17.
In common with the standard version, the front and rear “Suretrac” differentials and the very powerful braking system, made in Italy by the specialist Brembo, remain.
For the interior, a new anthracite-coloured upholstery has been designed and some details have been changed, such as in the case of the new six-speed manual gearbox lever, without forgetting the exclusive numbered commemorative plate that certifies the car's membership in the small group of Petter Solberg Editions for Italian models only. The other 500 destined for the European market were not numbered. The car in question is a real beauty with 128,000 original km, serviced and kept in an original condition apart from the exhaust.
Fun fact
1000 JDM examples were exported to celebrate the 2003 WRC win: 500 were sold in Europe, Australia and South Africa as the “Petter Solberg Edition” and the other 500 were further modified by Prodrive and sold in the UK with the suffix “WR1”. They had 316bhp and 420Nm, an incredible 0-100 time of just 4.25 seconds and a top speed of 249km/h (electronically limited). They were fitted with Prodrive WRX STI springs, Pirelli PZero Nero tyres, special Ice Blue metallic grilles and Prodrive PFF7 wheels. The ECU and exhaust did not obtain EU approval, so they were fitted after the car was registered.
