Beschreibung
"Introduced on 1st March 1993, the Impreza which, according to an article in ‘Motor Trend’, was initially to be called the Loyale, was offered in either front-wheel or all-wheel drive versions and as a four door saloon or five door hatchback/station wagon. Subaru chose to continue their longstanding use of the boxer engine in the Impreza. According to Subaru, their configuration of the engine in-line with the transmission minimises body roll due to the lower centre of gravity compared with offset engines in most other vehicles. The boxer design provides good vibration mitigation due to the principles of a very well balanced engine, the movement of each piston is largely countered by a piston in the opposing cylinder bank, eliminating the need for a counter-weighted rotating crankshaft (harmonic balancer).
This modified example is a one of a kind Impreza WRX which is presented in the iconic colour of WR Blue Mica with black trim. This WRX has been the subject of some very expensive upgrades, with invoices and paperwork verifying that the car had a full race specification forged engine fitted in 2012/2013 with Wesico pistons, Brian Crower con rods and Cosworth oil pump, Cambelt, pulley set and three layer head gasket. A lightened and balance flywheel and competition radiator was also fitted and when dyno tested this example read 415 bhp with 394ft lb with the small TD06 turbo. We are also informed that the car has some ProDrive upgrades and an invoice for a complete Pro drive six speed gearbox, transfer box and drive shafts is included in the history file. These details were provided by previous owners who lavished extraordinary expenditure on the car and viewing is advised to ascertain what remains or could have been changed; but our vendor assumes the parts are all present. Offered with the private registration plate, this would make a fantastic fast road or track going car and would certainly set the fun level to the maximum!
