Beschreibung
"The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was released to the public in October 1965. This new model was ten years in development and the new series was characterised by surprisingly modern features. Rolls-Royce broke new ground and broke away from many sacred design principles. The new models were technically striking in three ways; a monocoque chassis was used, all the wheels were sprung independently and four-wheel disc brakes ensured stopping power of that expected in a modern car. Under the bonnet, the V8 engine that had been introduced in the Silver Cloud series was employed. In February 1977, the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II was introduced. Outwardly, the models were identifiable by bumpers with rubber inserts and edges made from polyurethane. The most notable mechanical changes were to the rack and pinion steering, there was also modifications to the front suspension which improved handling markedly. The car had been subjected to extensive wind tunnel testing, the result of which created a car with much better stability at high speed.
This lovely example of this British classic luxury saloon is presented in Honey Gold with a brown vinyl roof and light fawn leather interior. Its interior is showing a nice patina with all woodwork in good condition. There is a recent invoice for £12,000 which was for a general service carried out by Harwoods, this included a brake overhaul, wax oiling, new gaskets and seals etc (all invoices are in the history file). The car comes with its original bill of sale and its ‘factory pass out papers’ which is rare. There are 21 service stamps in the book and its had only four owners from new."
