Produced by the team and based on a genuine Renault R23 (Chassis R23-06), this "show car" reflects a version of the Renault R31 from the 2011 season. Vitali Petrov and Nick Heidfeld raced this single-seater, which had a livery precious to Lotus when the team was sponsored by their historic partner, the tobacco company John Player Special. That season, Vitali Petrov finished 10th and Nick Heidfeld 11th in the World Championship standings. Bruno Senna finished 18th after replacing the German driver from the Belgian Grand Prix. Renault claimed 5th place in the Constructors' World Championship.
Concealed under this R31 bodywork, the Renault R23 (chassis No R23-06) took part in three Grand Prix races in 2003 with Fernando Alonso himself at the steering wheel. The Spanish driver finished 8th at Monza and retired twice at Indianapolis and Suzuka. During that season, Fernando Alonso earned his first victory and finished 6th place in the "Drivers" championship. Renault finished 4th in the "Manufacturers" championship and started its rise to the top.
This highly attractive Show car joined the Renault Classic collection in 2016 and should delight all F1 fans.
