Beschreibung

Launched in 1969, the Porsche 911 2.0 E was a potent variant of the beloved model, with performance closely following the range-topping 911 S. The year 1969 was also significant for the 911, as the wheelbase was increased from 221 cm to 226 cm to reduce lift-off oversteer. It also marked the final year of the coveted and quick-revving 2.0-liter flat six-cylinder engine.

This 911 2.0 E was built on May 6, 1969, in the rare and stunning shade of Ossi Blue with a black leatherette interior. According to the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity on file, rare factory options included an electric sunroof, fog lights, driver-side sport seat, rear-window wiper, and tinted glass, all of which have been retained.

According to the car’s original Pflegepass, the 911 was first serviced in Lübeck, Germany, on May 22, 1969. By that October, however, it was in the hands of a California-based owner who had it serviced by Chick Iverson Porsche in Newport Beach. In 1984, the car was acquired by Charles Wheeler of San Diego, who would cherish the special Porsche for the next four decades until it was acquired by the consignor. An original California black-plate car, this 911 E presents in lovely unrestored condition, which, combined with its unusual factory options, drew the current owner to this example. In an ideal specification and, significantly, retaining its matching-numbers engine, this car remains a charming and largely original example of Porsche’s much-admired 911 E.
