Beschreibung
The Porsche 930 turbo presented at Paris Motor Show 1974 was the first of the numerous generations of “911s Turbo”. Initially equipped with a 3.0 turbo engine of 260 horsepower, it has quickly been upgraded with the 3.3 of 300 hp in 1977. Once again, Dr. Fuhrmann adapted the turbo technology to the flat-6 engine, including an air-to-air intercooler in order to always get fresh inlet air to increase the performances. The car received as well a revised suspension, larger brakes, big fenders and a stronger gearbox to tame such power. Another very famous aerodynamic part appeared on this model, the whale tail, adding more down force to the car at high speed, it helps to vent the engine too, in order to optimize the cooling. These features made the 930 the fastest German sport car of its time!
In 1981, some appreciative customers of the racing Porsche 935, asked to modify their 930 with a similar front. That’s how the Porsche Exclusive department built some 930 “flat nose”, also called “Slant nose” or “Flachbau”. Between 1981 and 1988, 948 Porsche 930 Flat Nose have been built, but only 58 without pop-up headlamps.
The very rare 930 Flat Nose here below is one of the 58 built buy the Exclusive department of Stuttgart without pop-up headlamps, it is from November 1982 with serial number WP0ZZZ93ZDS000295 and the sunroof as original factory option. As most of these models, it has been delivered new to the U.S., imported in France in 1995. It is in amazing condition, matching numbers, untouched and un-repainted, been driven only 20 550 km since new. It gets the brand certificate guaranteeing that the Porsche Exclusive department has realized the flat nose in 1982. The car will be delivered with French registration papers, logbook, tools, Porsche Certificate and an Agreed Value Expertise.
This Porsche 930 flat nose is a pure collector, in addition to be one of the 58 built and in time capsule condition, a very rare opportunity for exclusive Porsche seeker.
