Beschreibung
The 996 was the first generation 911 to offer a GT3 RS designation. Built in only 682 examples, the RS moniker – RennSport (racing sport in English) – harks back to models such as the Carrera 2.7 RS of the early 1970s and combines everyday practicality with racing prowess.
The 996 GT3 RS was defined by its lightweight rear window in polycarbonate and carbon fiber hood and rear wing, as well as several other weight-saving measures. The flat-six engine with Hans Mezger DNA has reshaped intake and exhaust ports for race homologation.
This specific car was initially purchased by Mr. A. Wessling and delivered new to Porsche Zentrum Essen. Like all 996.2 GT3 RS models, the exterior was a beautiful Carrera white. This one was optioned with red wheels and accents, a tribute to the original 70s 911 RS.
In 2007, shortly after being serviced by Porsche Zentrum Hofheim, the car was imported to Sweden by Mr. S. Larsson. Two years later, in April 2009, the car was acquired by its current owner, one of the founders of MOTIKON, himself an owner of an important and highly curated collection of modern classics with motorsport pedigree.
All three owners have kept the car incredibly well-maintained, with documentation in the form of maintenance and service invoices available as proof. Notably, this example has had a carbon fiber gurney flap retrofitted.
In 2014, the car was sent to Porsche Center Haninge, who conducted a service and a complete gearbox overhaul to achieve better gear ratios.
In recent years, the car has been used very sparingly but has always been kept in a warm garage. When the current owner decided to sell the car, MOTIKON, as part of our standard procedure for all our cars, conducted a test on the vehicle and addressed every issue identified during the test, ensuring its mechanical integrity.
The 996 generation has long been overlooked, but with prices now starting to gain traction, the GT3 RS, built in only 682 examples, is now described by our team of experts as not only a thrilling sports car but also a bargain and a sound investment in the extensively expensive world of Porsches.
We can now proudly present a recently overhauled, low-mileage example of one of the all-time great Porsches. The car comes with extensive documentation, Porsche literature, its tool kit still intact, and an extra set of BBS LM wheels. A full list of executed work, as well as history, pictures, and videos, can be sent in case of serious interest. Do not hesitate to get in touch.
