Beschreibung

Built from 1994 to 1998, the Porsche 993 was the final air-cooled 911. Key advances included a more aerodynamic shape, a VarioRam intake system for improved engine responsiveness, and a multi-link Weissach rear suspension for better handling and stability.

This 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera S is one of approximately 1,962 examples built for Rest of World (ROW) markets and was specially ordered by Mizwa, Porsche’s distributor in Japan. Completed in February 1997, this Carrera S was finished in striking Blue Turquoise over a Midnight Blue partial leather interior, and specified with a Tiptronic S automatic transmission, air-conditioning, painted wheel centers, tinted windscreen, electric seats, rear window wiper, an onboard computer, lowered suspension, and other features specific to the Japanese market. Showing approximately 26,000 km (16,100 miles) when catalogued, this Carrera S presents in exceptionally well-preserved condition, with its only notable update being the replacement of the original radio with a new Porsche Classic unit. Accompanied by books, tools, jack, spare, and service records from new, it reflects meticulous care throughout its life. As Car and Driver editor Csaba Csere noted in 1997, “If I were sentenced to drive this Carrera S every day for the next five years, I’d still be a happy man.” With its ultra-rare Blue Turquoise finish, low mileage, and outstanding originality, this Carrera S is a remarkable example of the last air-cooled 911 generation.
