A 992 that looks really good, at least I hope it does as I ordered it new from my local official dealer, the excellent Porsche Centre in Swindon. I had a few definite ideas on the specification, most notably I was determined to have the new colour, a lovely shade of grey/green named Aventurine Green Metallic and only one interior colour would complement this in my opinion, the lovely Truffle Brown Club leather with Crayon stitch – what a mouthful! In addition I wanted the Sport Design body which includes a more defined body colour front spoiler, side skirts and raised rear number plate which makes the rear look, well, as politely as possible – less full!

I do like ticking boxes so I also couldn’t resist the PDCC option providing ridiculously roll free pre anticipated (or so it seems) handling, rear steering, Sport Chrono Plus with white dial for this and the tachometer, Bose Surround Sound, panoramic sunroof, sports exhaust, heated multi-function steering wheel, heated 18 way electric memory sports seats and steering column, electric folding mirrors, PDLS Plus headlights, light design package, Surround Park with all round cameras, Sports Exhaust System, 20/21 inch Carrera exclusive design wheels with satin black inserts, Adaptive cruise control and Interior package in Diamar light silver.

The excellent Lloyd at Porsche in Swindon guided me on the specification and restrained me on what was fast becoming an order coming to over £120,000! He’s a serious Porsche enthusiast with an intimate knowledge of the Porsche configurator, a rare combination!

I’ve been really impressed with the car since purchase, it’s so capable and fun in all conditions which makes it a 911 basically. I’ve covered less than 5,000 miles, it’s unmarked and I’ve never seen a better looking 992 yet.
