Charles Ware’s Morris Minor Centre have been working on Morris Minors for over 30 years. One of the services they offer to clients is to build them a “post-production” Convertible. In 2015, the previous owner had this car built for a landmark birthday.

A donor 2-door Morris Minor is sourced and the car is stripped right back and rebuilt from the ground up. All paint and trim is redone in the colour choice of the buyer, in our case the classic combination of Old English White with Red trim. The mechanicals are all rebuilt, the engine to unleaded specification and fitted with a modern alternator and electronic ignition. The brakes are upgraded with a servo and Halogen headlights are fitted.

After just under two years ownership, the car had been residing at their country home in the Cotswolds and with business keeping them in London nearly all the time, ‘RDN’, as she was known, wasn’t getting much use. We stored the car for the owner in the winter months and in 2017 sold the car to the current owner.

In the current ownership, the car has been used sparingly in the Cotswolds and London, where it was stored in an underground car park alongside the owners E-Type and XK120 Roadster.

With a view to consolidating the collection, the current owner has now decided to part with ‘RDN’. We collected the car from London, took it straight to Charles Ware’s for a full service and to do anything the car might need so as to be in ‘tip top’ condition on arrival for sale at the Hangar, here at the Classic Motor Hub.
