Beschreibung
The 1948 MG TC is a quintessential British sportscar that played a crucial role in popularising European roadsters in the U.S. after World War II. With its classic pre-war styling, it featured flowing lines, a tall grille, wire wheels, and a lightweight chassis. Powered by a 1.3 litre inline-four engine producing around 54bhp, it wasn't exceptionally fast but offered a thrilling driving experience. The TC had a four-speed manual transmission and a stiff suspension setup, making it a favourite among enthusiasts. Its charm, simplicity, and engaging handling helped lay the foundation for the American sportscar craze of the 1950s.
This delightful, enthusiast-owned TC presents in the ever-popular colour combination of Racing Green with a contrasting beige interior and beige roof. Originally registered and used in the UK, this MG was subsequently exported to the U.S. but has been back where it was manufactured since 2016. We are informed that this quintessentially English car fired up first time and performed well on a recent test and is a joy to drive. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document and a small amount of paperwork, this MG is ready for the summer with a new owner. Consigned by Dominic Lake
