Beschreibung
The SLS AMG was the first Mercedes-Benz with gullwing doors since the famous 300 SLR (the legendary Uhlenhaut-Coupé) respectively the sensational 300 SL, built from 1954 to 1957. It is the first car designed from scratch by AMG. Each of the 6.2 litre V8 engine delivering 571 horsepower was assembled by hand by a single engineer at the AMG works in Affalterbach. The completed engine was adorned with a metal plaque engraved with the engineers name. Final assembly of the cars took place at the Mercedes-Benz works in Sindelfingen. The car was first presented at the IAA in September 2009 and from 27th March 2010 the first examples were delivered. For the then base price of 280’000 Swiss francs, the owner received a sports car with a 7-speed AMG speedshift twin clutch gearbox, leather interior, air condition, multimedia system, navigation and further features which can be expected in a car of this class. By choosing every available option the final price could easily be brought up by another 100’000 Swiss francs. Our example, with its chassis number 1635 in the special colour “Monza Grey Magno” and with the optional brown leather interior is a Swiss delivery and was handed over to the lucky first owner on the 16th June 2010 through the garage Inter-Auto SA in Aigle. The owner, a sprightly 84 year old gentleman and still a great car-nut at heart, ordered the car in March of the same year after taking part in an AMG special experience presentation of the model in Le Castelet. Up to his passing, at the end of 2020, he occasionally used his cherished Gullwing on special occasions and only covered around 9’300 kilometres with it. In 2021 the sportster was taken over by the vendor and added to his collection. To improve the racy appearance, he had a set of black painted AMG 10-spoke design rims installed but the original 7-spoke rims are available and may be picked up by the buyer in Toffen. Due to lack of time, the SLS was driven only little and now has covered a mere 13’000 kilometres. The most recent servicing was completed in November 2023 at 12’974 kilometres. This beautiful SLS, with two owners only, today presents itself in very good and well-maintained condition and will be sold with both keys, a complete document folder and a service history as well as the last MOT from December 2024.
