In 2003, Mercedes-Benz and McLaren made a groundbreaking entry into the super sports car arena with the SLR. Drawing inspiration from the iconic 300 SLR that dominated the racing scene in 1955, the modern SLR paid homage to its predecessor with design elements like its striking silhouette, prominent side air intakes, and dramatic side-exit exhausts. Its contemporary aesthetic also embraced elements from the "Silver Arrow" race cars, featuring an F1-inspired nose and a double front spoiler. Available in both a sleek closed coupe with distinctive winged doors and an exhilarating open roadster, the SLR stood out from its competitors while honoring the legendary 300 SLR's legacy.

The SLR boasted cutting-edge technology and advanced construction, incorporating a carbon fiber chassis with aluminum components to reduce weight by 40 percent. At its core was a hand-built 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine, positioned in a front mid-engine layout and generating over 600 horsepower through a Lysholm-type twin-screw supercharger delivering up to 0.9 bar of boost. The car's aerodynamic efficiency was enhanced by a six-channel rear diffuser and a deployable six-position air brake rear spoiler, contributing to its low drag coefficient, superior directional stability, and road adhesion. With eight-piston brake calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear, the SLR could effortlessly decelerate from its 200 mph top speed

This SLR Roadster, finished in the striking Crystal Laurite Silver Metallic (977) with a luxurious Black semi-aniline leather (511) interior, completed its largely hand-built production at the McLaren Technology Center in Surrey, England, in late spring 2008. The car was equipped with the "XL" seats, enhancing comfort for both driver and passenger with their larger size. Additional features include dual-zone climate control, Bi-Xenon headlights, a distinctive instrument cluster with blue-faced gauges, and prominent McLaren logos, all contributing to an exceptional driving experience.

The clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report reveals that this SLR was first sold in California in August 2009 and remained there until April 2011 before being imported to Quebec, Canada, with just over 10,000 miles. The second owner acquired the car in August 2013, and it returned to the U.S. with a New York registration in April 2014. It was then purchased by its third and current owner in May 2014.
