By the mid-1980's, it was becoming clear that the beloved R107 series was in need of a replacement. The 1970's steel-and-chrome styling was replaced with an innovative, angular design featuring multiple suspension, steering and drivetrain improvements, along a myriad of creature comforts. The result was the R129 series, the most advanced and luxurious SL to date. Its timeless styling, capable performance and superior engineering made it an icon of the 1990's and a universal symbol of success.

This early 500SL has only had two owners from new, and has covered less than 6,000 miles since it left the showroom in 1991. Condition is fully original throughout, presenting extremely well in its Blue-on-Palomino color combination.
