At the time of its introduction, the W126 range consisted of seven models, four sedans and three limousines. The sedans were already themselves authentic status symbols for their elegance, finishing touches and rich hardware. At the time of its introduction, the 500SE was the flagship, equipped with a 5-litre V8.

This 126.036 specimen was produced in 1983 and delivered with a sunroof. It is presented in the classic silver colour, with the interior in typical Mercedes cloth, automatic gearbox and sunroof.

The car received a complete repainting a few years ago and is still shiny. It recently received a complete polish. There are some ordinary minor signs of normal use and minor imperfections (see photo).

The seals, finishing touches and details are of high quality, as only Mercedes in those years knew how to create, such as the alloy rims.

The interior has been kept completely original and is in good condition, with the typical ice-grey fabric and velour carpet, it is soft and a genuine lounge, the absolute comfort on board is perfectly in line with the tradition of the 3-pointed star.

The chassis and underbody are solid, with traces from normal use. The car was always kept in central Italy and was used for less than 5000 km a year as a sedan for the big trips of a local businessman.

The Mercedes 500 SE was able to establish itself in the flagship market, where it became one of the benchmark sedans thanks to its stylistic uniqueness and mechanical innovation, as well as the powerful V8 engine.

Mechanically, the car is in working order and can be driven. The engine is powerful, and the gearbox and brakes are in working order. However, the car was used little over the past two years due to COVID, and the technical inspection expired in April 2020. Some normal maintenance to pass the new inspection may be necessary for normal road use. A latest-generation LPG system was installed in 2018 and has been inspected and certified until 2028.
