Beschreibung
At the Geneva Motor Show in 1962, Mercedes-Benz for the first time, presented two new luxury premium class cars. It was the 300 SE Coupé and the 300 SE Cabriolet that went under the name W 112. In terms of their styling, both the coupé and cabriolet were based on the respective variants of the 220 SE (W 111). With a wheelbase of 2.75 meters and a total length of 4.88 meters, they make a stately impression.
The car was equipped with the Mercedes-Benz straight six-cylinder alloy engine which initially produced 160 hp, but with an increased output of 170 hp from 1964 onwards. The standard equipment of the Mercedes-Benz 300SE included a four-speed automatic transmission, power steering, air suspension and a braking system with two circuits and disc brakes front and rear. The additional chrome decoration consisted of a continuous chrome strip along the length of the car, running from the headlights all the way to the taillights, and distinctive chrome strips on the front and rear wheel arches.
Production of the 300 SE Coupé and 300 SE Cabriolet was discontinued in December 1967.
In total, only 3,127 Mercedes-Benz 300SE were produced and of these, only 708 of them were the 300SE Cabriolets version.
This makes the Cabriolet model an extremely rare and hard-to-find vehicle…
We can now present a unique Swedish-sold example of the Mercedes-Bens 300SE Cabriolet from 1965. In total, only about 8, W112 cabriolets were delivered to Sweden. This particular car was sold new to the well-known architect: T. Sjöström on September 8th in 1964. He then used the car for the rest of his life and the car has since been passed down in the family. What makes this example unique, apart from the fact that only 708 examples of the 300SE Cabriolet were produced in total, is that the car has only had 2 owners and users, within the same family.
The car has been well taken care of and maintained continuously throughout the years.
In 2008, the car was equipped with new upholstery in its original color. This 300 SE Cabriolet runs like a charm and is the ultimate car to ride along on a hot summer day. The car comes with a number of receipts and documents. As well as the car's instruction manuals. Don't miss the chance to acquire and become the owner of a unique and hard-to-find collector's car.
