When he came across this car, Baudouin Lempereur fell under its spell. Attractively shaped, it was powered by a 4-cylinder 1000cc engine developing 50bhp, giving it good performance as compared to its displacement. This sporty personality is confirmed by the quality of the interior, with a floor-mounted gear lever and a graduated speedometer that went up to 180 km/h.
Sold by Mazda France, as can be seen by its homologation plate, this car now displays 85,095km and is in a fairly satisfactory state of conservation, with old paint and correct leatherette upholstery despite a few tears on the driver’s seat. Noteworthy is the presence of an original Grundig car radio, and more modern rims have been installed. The car is equipped with front disc brakes. The engine compartment is in original condition and the mechanicals require a check/overhaul before starting, because the car has not been driven for a while.
Once a collector’s registration has been obtained, this former Garage Courtois car is an opportunity to acquire a small, attractive, distinctive and rare car, for a modest budget.
