Beschreibung

At the 1992 Turin Motor Show, Maserati added the Ghibli to its model line-up for the first time in almost 20 years. Designed by Marcello Gandini, the Ghibli featured a 2+2 front-engined layout with power sent to the rear wheels. Its basic form and V6 twin turbo were derived from the Biturbo. A modified Ghibli was then presented at the 1994 Geneva Motor Show, followed by the Ghibli Cup at the 1995 Bologna Motor Show.

The production Ghibli Cup was created as a public road version of the open cup racing car. The 2.0-litre engine, originally intended for the Italian market, delivered a maximum output of 330 hp, which was the highest output per litre (top speed 168 mph) for a road-going car at the time of its launch, even more than the EB110 and XJ220 supercars of the time. To distinguish it from the regular Ghibli, the Cup was equipped with Speedline wheels, improved suspension, Brembo brakes, aluminium pedals, aluminium fuel cap, carbon-fibre trim and emblems with red lines. Later, on request, an additional 25 cars with the 2.8-litre V6 engine were produced and officially imported into Japan by us. This car was also imported to Japan in 1997 and sold to a dealer in Fukuoka Prefecture. Since then, it has passed through several owners before returning to Garage Italya. It was always stored indoors, you can see that the alcantara on the dashboard is not burnt. Both interior and exterior condition are good, and there is an inspection record book from 1999.

-Suspension changed to Aragosta ride height adjustment.
- No MOMO original steering wheel.
- Japanese instruction manual by Garage Italya.
- Timing belt and water pump replaced at 61,000km
