• Comprehensive service and maintenance history
• Desirable Boomerang rear lights
The Maserati 3200 GT was styled by Italdesign whose founder and head, Giorgetto Giugiaro, previously designed, amongst others, the Ghibli, Bora and Merak and so certainly had the pedigree behind him. Sold mainly in Europe, the 3200 GT shared the twin-turbo 3.2 litre, V8 featured in the Quattroporte IV and Shamal, revised and tuned to 365bhp. The taillights consisted of LEDs arranged in the shape of a boomerang. The outer layer of the 'boomerang' provided the brake light, with the inner layer providing the directional indicator. Sadly, the U.S. insisted on bulbs and so, as is so often the way, style made way for bureaucracy. Nevertheless, it went on to be a great success, until 2007, with the boomerang rear lights being the more desirable.
This example is presented in Grigio Touring with unique Piano Black vents, mirrors and wheels and a blue leather interior. Originally sold by Maranello (Egham) in September 1999, the car then changed hands a number of times until it was sold in 2016 through an auction house to motoring journalist Roberto Giordanelli who then had the car renovated at Maserati specialists McGrath. The current owner acquired the car in 2022 and in his words has 'maintained it as a driver's car that is kept in regular use, particularly for continental road trips'.
The service history is comprehensive and detailed by invoices, the original book pack and toolkit are present as are two keys plus the red master key. Common 3200 GT issues have importantly been tackled including the throttle body and pedal pot, a reconditioned radiator, the front subframe has been replaced, reconditioned gearbox, rear crank seal, prop shaft coupling, valve clearances and shims, turbo retaining bolts and intercooler replacement, rear phonic rings, air conditioning compressor and HVAC unit, various wishbones replaced and more with a £4,000 major cambelt service with new tensioners, bearings and water pump at Emblem in March 2023.
Sat on a 'newish' set of Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres and with a new MoT until February 2026, our vendor states the car should be ready to enjoy after a minor oil, coolant and brake fluid service in the Spring. Consigned by Mathew Priddy
