Beschreibung

Competition car, no registration paper
Chassis: 2
- Several races winner
- Clear history, never damaged
- Less than 20 produced
André Marcadier is none other than a man who believed in his dreams, it must be said a little pushed by his friend Marcel Fournier in 1963. In fifty years, we estimate the production of sixteen models to almost 600 cars, mostly sold as a kit like for this 1972 Marcadier Can-Am prototype.
Thanks to the Club des Automobiles Marcadier and to the journalistic work of its owner, we were able to review the entire history of this Can-Am "version 2" produced from 1972 to 1975. Purchased by the pilot Philippe Schlosser in 1972 on behalf Ecurie Tours Auto, it is delivered as a kit with the flat rear cover and rear wheels uncovered. Having a solid experience in hill climbing, the car distinguished itself on several occasions before receiving a bodywork modified in 1976 by Royale in England, particularly in the rear wing. From that moment on, Ecurie Tours Auto will enter its car under the name Royale following a disagreement with the manufacturer, but it is with this chassis n ° 2 that Philippe Schlosser will enter the Côte de La Pommeraye hill climb on June 20, 1976, finishing second in Group 6 behind Dominique Lacaud's Tecma. Wishing to move on a Lola prototype, the racing car was sold to Mr. Alain Marie, in Caen, who will keep it for more than 25 years: “I bought it on March 15, 1986 in Maine et Loire. In 200 races at the wheel, I won 25 groups and 79 classes. It allowed me to be the Normandy slalom champion in 1988 and 1997, Regional champion in 1989 and champion in the prototype category in Normandy in 1988, 1990, 1995, 1997, 1998 and 2000! Built by Marcadier workshop in Mions by Jean Pierre Lecomte, who at that time was racing with chassis n ° 1, it enjoyed a fine reputation in the hands of the Schlosser brothers. That’s what made me decide to buy it. "
Present on the historical scene for many years, our chassis is completely original and has never been damaged. The engine is a 1647 cc Renault Gordini fitted with a Gordini aluminum cylinder head cover and finned sump. It is powered by two 45-diameter double- carburettors, an original R12 Gordini cylinder head with a No. 22 Ferry camshaft. The original gearbox comes from an R5 Alpine Turbo (NG5) with "hill climb" type teeth in straight cut. For the rest, an electric fuel pump, a competition coil, a Gordini aluminum water pump pulley with a toothed belt improve the efficiency of the whole.
Certainly one of the most successful Marcadiers, it is also one of the few to have never been in an accident. A car very close to the origin, French design and enjoying a good reputation on the historical scene.
