Lotus 18 - Coventry Climax 2.5L Formula 1 Car
One of only six Lotus 18 cars built for use by Team Lotus in 1960, this car was driven by John Surtees, Innes Ireland and Jim Clark at Grand Prix during the 1960 season.
Raced by Surtees at the International Trophy, Monaco, British, Portuguese and US Grand Prix, Jim Clark at the Belgian and French GP's as well as Innes Ireland racing this car at Solitude and the Danish GP. With podium finishes for both Ireland and Surtees as well as 5th place while driven by Jim Clark this car was succesful in the hands of all three drivers.
This Lotus 18 helped start the F1 careers of two of the greats F1 drivers. Sold to Scuderia Colonia for use during the 1961 season, the car was also raced by Lucien Bianchi at the Belgian Grand Prix. With good hisotry and prepared again for competition use, this car has run competitively in historic racing recently.
More recently raced at events such as Goodwood Revival and Monaco Historic GP, the is offered for sale with both 2.5L and newly built 1.5L engine. This is a significant car for entry to some of the premier motorsport events. The opportunitly to race a car driven by some of the great F1 drivers at some amazing events is not to be missed.
