Chassis No. HU08

Lola Cars has remained true to their founding philosophy, rarely wavering from a laser-like focus on designing and building competitive customer race cars. In fact, Lola has spurned all forms of so-called road car profiteering. Between their founding in 1958 by Eric Broadley and today, Lola Cars have produced race winners for nearly every major racing series from Formula One, IndyCar, multiple international endurance racing series, and Can-Am, even all the way down to grassroots Formula Ford with their T200 series.

Of those prestigious race series, it is international endurance racing where Lola has excelled and the B2K/10 and B2K/40 Le Mans Prototypes developed and built at the turn of this century by Multimatic are certainly part of that winning tradition. The B2K/40 was prolific in the U.S. and featured in both Grand-Am and American Le Mans Series (ALMS) competition classed in SRPII and LMP675/LMP2 respectively. Of the sixteen B2K/40s built by Lola Cars International, chassis number HU08 must rank among the most successful. The car's active race career spanned 35 races between 2001 and 2004 in both Grand-Am and ALMS competition and it's difficult to choose between its brightest moment. Seventh overall and first in class at the 2003 Daytona 24? Or perhaps first in class at the 2004 Sebring 12 Hours? Add in an LMP2 class victory in Lime Rock at the New England Grand Prix and it's clear that chassis HU08 features an incredible string of results!

Today the sports racer by Multimatic remains in ALMS LMP2 configuration, fitted with an Advanced Engine Research (AER) Nissan 3.0-liter V6 coupled to a six-speed sequential gearbox from Hewland. Current equipment includes a Motec dash, updated Life ECU and Dynamic shock absorbers. The sale includes its FIA paperwork, a wheel nut socket, on-board air jack wand, manuals, and its HSR Logbook. Additionally, a spare set of OZ wheels are included which will be made available to the winning bidder which will ship from Vero Beach, Florida. It should be noted that it has been a few years since chassis number HU08 ran on track and, as a result, it will need to be gone through before a return to the track. However, once ready, it will be a welcome entry in myriad vintage racing series, ready to triumph once again at circuits like Sebring and Daytona through the HSR Classic races and, of course, grand events like the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
