This very early Efi example with a manual transmission is finished in Balmoral Green with a light grey velour interior. A highly original car that has undergone a raft of sympathetic restoration works. The car when purchased was a dry stored example that required only replacement outer sills and footwells, every other area of the car had stood the test of time extremely well owing to the fact it had comprehensive and regular undersealing therefore all the usual weak spots were incredibly solid including the A and B posts, floors and chassis and of late a fresh underseal of the vehicle has also been completed. All body panels have been stripped and painted off the car and all the innards painted the factory correct satin black before reassembly and all lights have been replaced, along with new bumpers and bumper end caps. Finally the period correct alloy wheels have been finished in body colour and diamond cut along with fresh GoodYear tyres .

Mechanically the gearbox has been fully rebuilt by Ashcroft transmissions along with a new clutch and flywheel, the engine has been treated to a top end rebuild, a new braking system including discs, pads and replacement brake lines and flexi hoses have been installed. New shock absorbers and coil springs have been fitted all round as well as replacing the body mounts (eight in total). The fuel system has received a new tank, fuel pump and sender along with all replacement fuel hoses and lines and in addition to this the engine bay has been fully detailed including painting the inner wings and the plenum chamber and rocker covers finished in body colour.

A very thorough 'light' restoration with paintwork completed to a very high standard with fresh headlining and new carpets throughout this presented a fabulous example of the 80's icon. Considerable expenditure to this car which would be far in advance of its estimate and as such viewing is recommended to appreciate the work. Consigned by Mathew Priddy

salesroom noticeDue to time constraints this example is offered nearing completion but requires finishing, running in and testing. Described as 90% ready we are advised that the brakes require some attention, whilst the full system has been overhauled the pedal is very soft which will be either down to a fluid leak or air in the system. The engine requires setting up correctly with some new pipes advised, coupled to some of the electrics requiring finishing, hence this example needs to be trailered away to the successful bidder for completion.
