In 2015, 67 years after the presentation of the first Land Rover, a Heritage special edition of the Defender was launched. It was available in three variants with a short wheelbase (90”) as a hardtop with or without windows, or a station wagon with windows and a long wheelbase (110”), in total limited to 2’654 examples worldwide. All were painted in the special «grasmere green» with a fabric interior in almond as a homage to the legendary Land Rover prototype from 1947. Its legendary registration HUE 166 is reflected with a sticker on the mudguards and embossed in the front seats. For the Swiss market a total of 300 units were produced. The example offered here was handed over by the Emil Frey agency in Münchenstein to the first and only owner on the 14th of January 2016. On the 3rd of February of the same year the car was de-registered again and the collector's piece has been dry-stored under a dust cover ever since. With only 65 kilometres driven, this Land Rover is in new condition and would be an interesting addition to any collection. The original bill of sale as well as the original emergency kit in the embossed leather pouch are available. The last MOT was completed in January 2016.
