Vincenzo Lancia gründete 1906, nach Beendigung seiner Rennfahrer-karriere bei Fiat die Marke Lancia. Von Anfang an stand der Name Lancia für fortschrittlichen innovativen Automobilbau. Unter seiner Regie seines Sohnes Gianni Lancia  entstand die berühmte Aurelia Baureihe mit den Modellen B20 und B24. Während der Produktionszeit feiert Lancia zahlreiche Erfolge im internationalen Motorsport. Bei allen großen Rennsportklassikern, der Mille-Miglia, der Carrera Pan Americana, etc. waren die italienischen Sportwagen am Start. 1954 ergänzt die von Pininfarina entworfene Karosserievariante B24 Spider die Aurelia-Baureihe: ursprünglich für den amerikanischen Markt konzipiert und deshalb auch "America" genannt, folgte nach kurzer Bauzeit und ca. 240 produzierten Wagen eine stark überarbeitete Variante. Vor allem das Verdeck soll schlechtem Wetter besser standhalten. Aus dem Spider wird der Convertible. Insgesamt wurden ca. 1621 Stück in dieser offenen Version gebaut. Allerdings erreichten längst nicht alle ihre Käufer, denn zusammen mit der "Andrea Doria" versank eine komplette Schiffsladung im Meer.

Gemäß vorliegendem „Lancia Classiche“ wurde das hier beschriebene Fahrzeug am 31. Mai 1958 fertiggestellt. Der B24 S Convertible wurde vor einigen Jahren mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail aufwendig durch Fachbetriebe gemäß vorliegender Fotodokumentation restauriert.

Eine seltene Gelegenheit, einen aufwendig restaurierten Lancia B24 S Convertible in einer wunderschönen Farbgebung zu erwerben.

Description:

Vincenzo Lancia founded the Lancia brand in 1906 after finishing his racing career at Fiat. From the very beginning, the name Lancia stood for progressive and innovative automobile construction. Under the direction of his son Gianni Lancia, the famous Aurelia series was created with the B20 and B24 models. During the production period, Lancia celebrated numerous successes in international motor sport. The Italian sports cars competed in all the major racing classics, the Mille-Miglia, the Carrera Pan Americana, etc. In 1954, the B24 Spider body variant designed by Pininfarina complemented the Aurelia series: originally designed for the American market and therefore also called "America", a heavily revised variant followed after a short construction period and approx. 240 cars produced. Above all, the soft top was designed to withstand bad weather better. The Spider became the Convertible. A total of about 1621 cars were built in this open version. However, by no means all of them reached their buyers, because together with the "Andrea Doria" a complete shipload sank in the sea.

According to the available "Lancia Classiche", the vehicle described here was completed on 31 May 1958. The B24 S Convertible was restored a few years ago with great attention to detail by specialist companies according to the photo documentation available.
