Formula Ford, or Formula F, is a single seater, open wheel class entry level motorsport in which many formula 1 drivers have cut their teeth, including David Coulthard and Jenson Button who were both British Formula Ford champions. Danica Patrick, the first female to win a major race in the IndyCar Series on a closed-course, finished second in the British Formula Ford Festival early in her career. In the late 1960s and early 1970s; the same period from which this Jamun hails, Emerson Fittipaldi and Jody Scheckter were both competing in Grands Prix within a year or so of starting Formula Ford in Britain.
Today’s example was originally built in 1976 by Jamun racing for Ken Pickering who competed in FF2000 on and off until 1979. The car remained with him until 2003 where it underwent a detailed rebuild. Des
