Chassis No. S675239

Jaguar co-founder Sir William Lyons conceived of a limited-production roadster as a stopgap for the forthcoming Jaguar Mark VII while showcasing the capabilities of the 3.4-liter, 160 horsepower "XK" engine. And showcase it did! Dubbed the XK 120 for its claimed 120 mph top speed, the lithe and sweeping roadster caused a sensation upon its debut at the 1948 London Motor Show in Open Two Seater form. Demand was such that the initial run of 240 hand-built, aluminum construction cars were immediately snapped up, prompting Coventry to re-tool for steel construction by 1950. Produced until 1954 with only minor external changes to the fabulous looks of the original alloy cars, the XK 120 remains highly coveted as one of the greatest post-war production sports cars of all time.

According to its Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, this exceptional XK 120 Roadster emerged from Jaguar's Coventry works on 1 April 1954, finished in Birch Grey with Red upholstery. Delivered to Hoffman Motor Car Company of New York just days later, this left-hand drive example is thought to have remained stateside since new. In 2011, Mountain View Restorations of Colorado executed a comprehensive body-off restoration. The process included soda blasting the body to bare metal, precise panel fitment, and meticulous application of period-correct Old English White paint. The drivetrain received later and further improved 3.4-Liter unit, fully overhauled, while the chassis underwent complete mechanical refurbishment including brakes, suspension, cooling and electrical systems. A five-speed transmission and aluminum radiator were integrated, while BAS Ltd. trimmed a new red leather interior and black soft top.

The Jaguar's exceptional restoration earned numerous accolades at Western U.S. Concours events, including multiple Best in Show and Class honors. Notable achievements included winning the JCNA Southwest Regional Championship and achieving JCNA championship status in 2012 with a near-perfect score of 99.65 points. This impeccably prepared XK 120 presents beautifully today, with the trunk carrying its original service manual, tool roll, jack, knock-off hammer, tire pump, side curtains, and matching wire spare. Well maintained since being acquired by its current Nevada-based owner in 2022, including a recently installed fuel pump, this stunning roadster combines show-winning presentation with engaging driving dynamics, making it ideal for both concours and numerous vintage rallies.
