- All components were reconditioned or replaced as required
- Approximately £50,000 spent in parts alone
- Still retains its original Birmingham registration number, 912 JOB
- So fresh that a period of ‘running in’ is recommended to obtain the best from this superb classic family saloon
This stunning, 3.8 Jaguar Mk2, finished in Gunmetal with Blood Red hide is fresh from a total restoration with almost £50,000 having been spent on parts alone and the standard of workmanship is of the highest of levels with every last nut, bolt, washer and screw receiving attention. Every aspect of the car's return to full health was considered carefully and our vendors wanted to create a desirably stylish Mk2 that functioned correctly and was enjoyable to drive. It's fitted with a 3.8-litre engine from an S-Type mated to an all-synchromesh gearbox with overdrive. Opalescent Gunmetal was their choice of colour and the car's look is enhanced by MWS Stainless Wire Wheels and Pirelli tyres neatly filling the Coombes-style rear arches. The interior is equally well considered and presents to a Concours standard with superbly fitted hides, immaculate veneers, a new headlining and its original push-button Radiomobile. There is even a correct and complete tool kit residing in the spare wheel well, as it should, with all other tools correctly positioned on the rear bulkhead.
Minor alterations from standard include removal of the battery from the engine bay to the boot, and the adoption of an alternator, LED lighting and power assisted steering, all chosen to enhance the driving experience. Still bearing its original Birmingham registration number, 912 JOB , the Jaguar is so fresh that a period of ‘running in’ is advised to get the best from this very desirable classic family saloon. Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the time and effort that the two retired engineers have put into this project and which is now ready for its next custodian to enjoy to the full.
