Beschreibung
"The Mk. II Saloon sums up the Jaguar ethos in one simple design; timeless lines, luxurious interior leather seating, burr walnut dash and a superb 3.8 litre power plant underneath that most elegant of bonnets finished off with the classic leaping cat. The fine road manners proved useful both off the track and on it with many podium finishes during the 60s and indeed right up to the present day. Indeed, a popular choice at the Goodwood Revival.
Originally registered on 19th August 1960 this early Jaguar Mk. II has an interesting history dating back to 1962 and still bears its original registration number. Incorporated in the history is when the owner in 1969 (he purchased the car in 1962) took a photograph of the odometer as it clocked up 210,000 miles. The Jaguar whilst all complete is in need of restoration. However included in the sale is a Jaguar Mk. II body that has been fully restored to a very high standard. The intention by the vendor being that he would restore SPN 612 using the donor body, however as is often the case, a change in circumstances means this is unlikely to happen, he has therefore put the project up for sale. As owners of these iconic vehicles will know, parts are readily available through the various owners’ clubs and advice is easy to call upon. These cars are mechanically basic and reliable, the end result of this project should be a Jaguar Mk. II 3.8 that can be enjoyed for many more years to come.
