Beschreibung

From its launch in 1961 to the end of its production in 1975, the Jaguar E-Type went from design revelation to motoring icon in a generation. Based on Jaguar’s three time Le Mans winning D-Type and known internationally for its beautiful sleek lines and a top speed of 150mph, this revolutionary car had three significant series changes during its 14-year build span. Each model enjoyed subtle changes which included chassis length, headlight style and switchgear but all retained the famous Jaguar DNA instilled by the company’s founder Sir William Lyons. In Series II guise around 1,000 right hand drive Series II fixedhead coupés were eventually made, making it a rare iteration of the E-Type.
First registered in November 1970, this superb looking E-Type is finished in midnight blue coachwork over a black leather interior. Fitted with its original wood rim steering wheel, the specification includes a wonderful set of 15” chrome wire wheels, uprated seat belts, and uprated hydraulic power steering. The current vendor acquired the Jaguar in 2021 directly from a family who had owned the E-Type for over three decades.
Reported to run and drive very well indeed, this E-Type has more recently been treated to a complete carburettor overhaul and set up by a reputable E-Type specialist. The condition of the paintwork is very good and the bodyshell is in good order throughout. The interior is also in very good condition with only minor creasing to the seats. The black carpets have recently been replaced and the dashboard dials and switches are in good working order. Under the bonnet the engine bay has been maintained very well and although not concours, is in excellent condition.
Offered with a sizeable paperwork file detailing its history, maintenance invoices, old MoT records, and the V5C registration document. This example, sitting proudly on its 15” chrome wire wheels, looks fantastic and is offered with its private registration number ‘JAG 10’ which has recently been valued at £20,000 alone! An opportunity not to be missed.
