Der hier zum Verkauf angebotene Iso Rivolta IR 300 GT-Coupé der zweiten Serie wurde am 11.12.1966 für den Französischen Markt gebaut und als Nummer 559 von 792 gebauten Exemplaren fertiggestellt. Erst zwei Jahre später, am 31.01.1968 erfolgte dann die Erstzulassung des Fahrzeuges in Frankreich. Der heutige Eigentümer hat den Wagen im Jahre 2015 in Frankreich erworben und ihn erst 2023 wieder zugelassen. Es ist davon auszugehen, dass der Wagen sein gesamtes Leben bis 2015 in Frankreich verbrachte.
Er wurde 2014 frisch lackiert und präsentiert sich noch immer mit seinem ersten Leder und Interieur. Der IR 300 wurde technisch überholt und erhielt erst kürzlich einen frischen Service und eine Vollabnahme.
Laut dem Iso Rivolta Club gibt es heute noch ca. 300 Fahrzeuge Weltweit. Gerade deshalb ist dieser sehr original erhaltene Wagen ein wirkliches Sammlerstück.
Der ISO Rivolta erzielte dieses Jahr (2023) auf dem FIVA Concours D‘ Elegannce der Techno Classica in der Klasse F (1961-1970) den 3. Platz. Insbesondere wurde er wegen seiner Originalität prämiert.

Der Rivolta IR 300 wurde auf dem Turiner Autosalon 1962 zum ersten Mal der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt. Er war der verwirklichte Traum zweier Männer - des Firmenchefs Renzo Rivolta, nach dem der Wagen benannt ist, und des Ingenieurs Giotto Bizzarrini, der früher bei Ferrari arbeitete, die das Modell als prächtigen Gran Turismo konzipierten.

Giorgetto Giugiaro von Bertone war federführend bei der Gestaltung des eleganten 2+2 Coupés mit klassischen Proportionen und einem eindrucksvollen Kühlergrill. Große Fensterflächen sorgen für eine helle Kabine, im Innern herrscht italienisches Flair mit Leder, Holz und schön gestalteten Veglia-Instrumenten. Gefertigt wurde die teilweise mittragende Stahlblechkarosserie bei Bertone. Sie wurde auf einen massiven Stahlkastenrahmen aufgesetzt, entwickelt von Giotto Bizzarrini und Pierluigi Raggi.

Vorne sind die Räder einzeln an Trapez-Dreieckquerlenkern und Schraubenfedern aufgehängt, hinten stellt eine De Dion Konstruktion die Radführung sicher. Vier Scheibenbremsen verzögern die Kraft des 5,4 Liter Corvette-Motors, welcher das Coupé auf bis zu 218 km/h beschleunigt.

Die vier Gänge werden durch ein vollsynchronisiertes Borg-Warner Getriebe eingelegt, welches die Kraft an die beiden Hinterräder weiterleitet. Der IR 300 hatte zu seiner Zeit ein schweres Los gezogen, denn in seiner Preisklasse (immerhin über 40.000 DM im Jahr 1965) konkurrierte er mit Ferrari, Maserati und Aston Martin. Dazu kam auch noch die hausinterne Konkurrenz durch den sportlicheren Iso Grifo, was schlussendlich dazu führte, dass lediglich 792 Iso Rivolta Coupés die Hallen im italienischen Bresso verließen.

Mit einer Kombination aus scharfer italienischer Maßarbeit und kraftvollen, aber zuverlässigen Detroit-Muskeln ist der Iso IR 300 GT Coupe zweifellos die beste aller möglichen Welten und der ideale Begleiter für Langstreckentouren.

The second series Iso Rivolta IR 300 GT Coupe offered for sale here was built for the French market on 11/12/1966 and completed as number 559 of 792 built. Only two years later, on 31.01.1968, the car was registered for the first time in France. The current owner acquired the car in France in 2015 and did not register it again until 2023. It can be assumed that the car spent its entire life in France until 2015.
It was freshly painted in 2014 and still presents itself with its first leather and interior. The IR 300 has been technically overhauled and recently received a fresh service and a full inspection.
According to the Iso Rivolta Club, there are about 300 vehicles left in the world today. Therefore this very original car is a real collector's item.

The Rivolta IR 300 was presented to the public for the first time at the 1962 Turin Motor Show. It was the dream come true of two men - company boss Renzo Rivolta, after whom the car is named, and engineer Giotto Bizzarrini, formerly of Ferrari, who conceived the model as a magnificent Gran Turismo.
Bertone's Giorgetto Giugiaro led the design of the elegant 2+2 coupé with classic proportions and an impressive grille. Large windows make for a bright cabin, the interior has an Italian flair with leather, wood and beautifully designed Veglia instruments. The partially self-supporting sheet steel body was manufactured by Bertone. It was mounted on to a solid steel box frame, developed by Giotto Bizzarrini and Pierluigi Raggi. At the front, the wheels are individually suspended on trapezoidal triangular wishbones and coil springs; at the rear, a De Dion construction ensures wheel control. Four disc brakes decelerate the power of the 5.4-litre Corvette engine, which accelerates the Coupé to up to 218 km/h. The four gears are engaged by a fully synchronised Borg-Warner gearbox, which transmits power to the two rear wheels.
In its day, the IR 300 had a hard time. Because, within its price range (still DM 40,000 in 1965) it competed with Ferrari, Maserati and Aston Martin. On top of that competition from the more sporty Iso Grifo, which ultimately led to only 792 Iso Rivolta Coupés being produced.
With a combination of sharp Italian tailoring and powerful but reliable Detroit muscle, the Iso IR 300 GT Coupe is undoubtedly the best of all possible worlds and the ideal companion for long-distance touring.
