In 1936/1937, Horch's top-of-the-range model was the powerful 853a, of which only 400 were made. It came in several body styles, the Erdmann & Rossi Spezial Roadster being the most exquisite, of which only seven were made.
Many of the 853s have been lost, but we are fortunate that 853177 remains. Horch Klassik discovered it on a farm in the Ukraine in the 1990s. It had lost its original bodywork and had been used as a farm machine for decades.
Horch Klassik spent years meticulously restoring it, ensuring that it historically matched the Erdmann & Rossi Spezial Roadster bodywork. The chassis, engine and axles are original. The original Aphon gearbox is still with this car.
