Beschreibung
The General Motors line of commercial trucks began in 1909 when William Durant acquired the Rapid Motor Vehicle Company of Pontiac, Michigan. Rapid had built a reputation as a powerful and durable truck – and captured attention when one climbed to the top of Pikes Peak. By 1911, under the General Motors umbrella, the GMC brand of commercial and specialty vehicles was born, and the Rapid name was eventually dropped. GMC offered a variety of industrial truck platforms including this light-duty model.
Built in General Motors’ Canadian factory, this Series T-15 light-duty truck displays incredible finishes throughout and is presented in as-found condition. While the complete history of this Pickup is not known, it was likely selected for the collection for its wonderful period door script and well-preserved state. Fitted with a red wooden stake bed, artillery wheels, and toolbox mounted on the running board, this GMC represents the quintessential work truck and presents a unique opportunity to its next discerning collector.
*Please note that this Lot, like all vehicles in this Auction, has been in long-term static storage and may not be currently operational. It will require mechanical attention prior to any road use.
