Beschreibung
"The Fiat X1/9 is a two-seater designed by Bertone and manufactured by Fiat from 1972-1982. Bertone subsequently took the lead from 1982-1989 and, in 1982, shortly after the introduction of the 1500 model, complete production was assumed by Bertone with models from this point forward badged as the Bertone X1/9. With a transverse engine and gearbox in a mid-mounted, rear-wheel drive configuration, the X1/9 was noted for its excellent handling and lightweight, removable hardtop. It succeeded a 1969 show concept car called the Autobianchi Runabout (with styling by Bertone under chief designer Marcello Gandini) and, unlike Fiat's marketing nomenclature at the time; the X1/9 retained its prototype code as its marketing name.
This outstanding Fiat X1/9 was originally supplied by Clover Leaf Cars in Basingstoke on 1st March 1984 at a cost of £6,772.28, extras included the fitment of mudflaps and a stereo system according to the original invoice from Clover Leaf. Finished in the original colour combination of red/black with black interior, this Fiat has a full history folder confirming the low mileage of 19,504. The vendor has used the Fiat very little since acquiring the car, preferring to keep the car in his heated garage along with other cars in his collection. However, he has started the car regularly and informs us she runs very well. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 24th July 2019 together with a magnificent history folder, original handbooks and spare keys. This Fiat X1/9 is surely one of the best examples available anywhere today. Viewing in person is strongly recommended.
