1989 Ferrari Testarossa – A Timeless Icon
We are pleased to offer this exceptional 1989 Ferrari Testarossa, presented in the stunning factory color combination of Nero over a cognac leather interior. This car is a true driver's machine, boasting a full engine rebuild completed between 2017 and 2018 at 35,300 miles, which included a brand-new clutch. Photographs and invoices documenting this work are available. Since the rebuild, the car has been serviced annually and has covered only 5,000 miles.
During the restoration, the owner also reupholstered the entire interior, enhancing its luxurious feel. In 2024, the Testarossa underwent a major service, including the replacement of all belts, ensuring its mechanical integrity. The car runs and drives absolutly perfect, just as its stunning looks.
Originally delivered new in the United States, this Testarossa is now registered in Belgium and is 100% accident-free.
The Ferrari Testarossa is renowned for its powerful 4.9-liter flat-12 engine, producing 390 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 490 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. This mid-engine layout provides exceptional balance and handling, making it a true driver's car. The Testarossa gained fame and desirability largely due to its prominent role in the 1980s TV show "Miami Vice," where it was driven by the character Sonny Crockett, played by Don Johnson. The show's glamorous depiction, combined with its audience of millions, cemented the Testarossa's status as an iconic car favored by celebrities, including rock stars like Elton John and Rod Stewart. Known for its distinctive side strakes, a design feature developed to solve a cooling issue present in its predecessor, the Testarossa also became renowned for its sleek, stylish appearance rather than its performance. Enzo Ferrari was so pleased with the exposure that he gifted a silver Testarossa to Johnson.
This particular Testarossa is a close to perfect example of Ferrari's engineering prowess and design excellence. It offers the full Ferrari experience at a very appealing price point. With no foreseeable costs, you can simply turn the key and enjoy many miles of driving pleasure.
Fresh from an april 2025 mechanical tune-up an ready for summer.
