In production since 2019, the Ferrari SF90 takes the classic Ferrari mid-engined V8 formula to an entirely unheard-of level. While the engine in place is a twin-turbocharged V8, the car also employs a 7.9kWh lithium-ion battery powering three electric motors for regenerative braking, and as such, the SF90 is strictly speaking a plug-in hybrid. All told, the power output climbs to an earth-shattering 986 horsepower, all driving through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, good for zero-to-60 sprints of only 2.5 seconds! In fact, as of 2020, the SF90 was the fastest Ferrari to lap the fabled Fiorano test track in Maranello, faster even than the LaFerrari.
The car we have the pleasure of presenting here, however, takes these astounding statistics to an even higher level. The SF90 Stradale coupe was joined by the SF90 Spider, which in turn brings us to this... the SF90 Spider Assetto Fiorano. This special iteration is available on both the Stradale and Spider models and employs additional, extensive lightweight carbon fiber, racing-derived suspension components, a titanium exhaust system, and carbon wheels. The combined weight savings amount to 66 pounds. With an original MSRP on this car approaching $1M, this truly is one of Ferrari's finest products and is presented here in Grigio Medio grey over Nero black, with only about 2,750 miles indicated. Aside from the aforementioned Assetto Fiorano features, the car is extraordinarily well equipped with factory options including the use of carbon fiber for the air splitter, engine cover, rear diffuser, rear shelf, center console, front spoiler and even the key and under-door cover! Additional leather features are utilized on the interior, the tailpipe tips are blacked out, Scuderia Shields are in place, and of course there is a whole host of electronic options from the premium sound system to the surround-view cameras.
In short, it would be extraordinary difficult to envision an SF90 that is better and more desirably equipped than this particular example, which seemingly ticks every box – the Spider body, lightweight Assetto Fiorano package, striking colors, endless use of carbon fiber, low mileage, a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, and an assortment of options that brought the MSRP close to seven figures. Short of the SF90 FXX, which is intended more for track use anyway, this car's desirability is unmatched.
