EXTERIOR
Penned by designer Ken Okuyama, the Enzo’s design mimics the shape of an single seater race car – wrapped in a skin extending over the wheels and cockpit with vents, ducts and cuts all for a sole dynamic purpose. Aerodynamically perfected in Pininfarina’s wind tunnel, the body was composed of panels woven from Carbon Fibre and Kevlar and looks like a wild pre – production prototype. Further active aerodynamics help the Enzo maintain stability at all speeds thanks to an adjustable rear spoiler and front flap; allowing for either high load or low drag aerodynamic setup.
This particular example looks absolutely incredible re-finished in Nero Daytona by the main agent, perfectly complimenting every slash and contour with the design study looking as fresh today as when it was launched in 2002.
With an F1-inspired nose, huge rear diffuser and clear engine cover revealing the epic V12 the inspiration is clear for all to see. As Luca de Montezemolo states, ‘To bring together our racing success and the fundamental role of races, I decided that this car, which represents the best our technology is capable of, should be dedicated to the founder of the company who always thought racing should lay the foundation for our road car designs’.
INTERIOR
Opening the unique Scissor doors, another first for Ferrari, reveals a fighter jet cockpit lavished with the finest materials. Sabelt bucket seats are upholstered in Pelle Nero / Rosso and remain tight and clean with excellent shape and contour, whilst red leather inserts to lower dash and central binnacle offer some contrast to the carbon dominated cabin. The carbon door cards are an absolute work of art, with red leather grab handle and elbow pad the only necessities alongside a stereo speaker. Alongside the exposed tub, foot wells and door entry strips the lacquer and presentation of carbon elements is excellent. All switch gear, not the manufacturers strongest area, has either been replaced or refinished by Maranello here in the UK to ensure the interior remains in first class condition. Chrome badging with production number, F1 success and the Enzo signature are a nice touch and only add to the occasion on board.
Finally, an upgraded Alpine DAB / Bluetooth head unit is also complimented by a speaker system in between driver and passenger.
Unlike the Ferrari F50, the Enzo offered some refinements for ease of use and fortunately the manufacturer incorporated several driver aids and adjustments. Designed by Ferrari Gestione Sportiva (Ferrari Sport Management), embedded electronic systems help the Enzo to be somewhat more approachable than the furious F cars of the past. All accessible via the steering wheel, the driver can change the settings of the active damping, electro – hydraulic shifting and traction control. In No ASR mode, the most aggressive setting, the driver has the option of using Launch Control again borrowed from Formula One.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
With a chassis built from carbon fibre and aluminium honeycomb panels, at the heart of the Enzo is an all new, twelve-cylinder engine – the F140; still used in Ferrari’s of today.
The F140 is one of the largest Ferrari engines, only being eclipsed by the Can Am units of the 1970’s. Having such a large displacement allows the Enzo to deliver a healthy amount of torque, specifically 137 ft/ lbs more than the F50 at 1000 rpm sooner. Despite the engine’s large displacement, it still manages to achieve 110 bhp / litre thanks to a continuously variable intake manifold and variable valve timing. Never combined on a road car before, these F1 – derived systems maximize fuel consumption and torque across the range.
Attached to the engine, the transmission unit also houses an oil tank, bevel gear and limited slip differential. With an electrohydraulic system automatically activating the clutch and gear changes, developments from the Grand Prix car help it achieve gear changes in 150 milliseconds and close to 90 milliseconds when in sport mode. Four lights atop the steering wheel indicate to the driver when an up shift is needed via two paddles behind the steering wheel. No fully automatic selection is offered.
With a fastidious service history carried out by the main agents, mechanicals are in top condition and performance from the naturally aspirated V12 is a revelation.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The unique to Enzo BBS wheels are a striking 5 spoke centre lock that were refurbished in Anthracite to match the Nero bodywork. Remaining unmarked with Giallo badging all four wheels are shod in Scuderia specific Bridgestone Potenza rubber that were recently installed in 2024.
The mighty Carbon – Ceramic brake discs, a first for a Ferrari road car, provide quite incredible performance as to be expected from Brembo. Not only saving 12. 5kgs of unsprung weight when compared to conventional steel discs, the CCM material is also highly resistant to corrosion.
HISTORY FILE
Originally destined for Spain and registered by Testarossa Cars S A, Madrid in June of 2004, this unique Enzo spent the first 6 years of it’s life on the continent before import into the UK in 2010.

Having been stored and serviced exclusively with Maranello UK in recent years the car has had everything it has needed and more. With fresh tyres installed in 2024 the car is on the button and ready to go.
The history file is complete with service invoicing from Maranello, original stamped Tessera di Garanzia and full book pack. Finally, a Classiche folder is also present; this was carried out in 2015.
An icon of the Montezemolo era, the Enzo represents the ultimate iteration of the naturally aspirated, limited-edition Ferrari Hypercar combining the very best components and technology the world had to offer.
