Ferrari constructed only 559 examples of the 575M-based Superamerica, complete with an innovative Revocromico rotating electric glass roof. Of the limited run, the car offered here was beautifully finished in Argento Nürburgring to complement Bordeaux leather upholstery. However, the mechanical specification of chassis 145743 is perhaps even more noteworthy than the elegant exterior since it features an open-gate, six-speed manual gearbox. It is thought that just 43 Superamericas were configured with this transmission.
In addition, the car gained the GTC handling pack. This €20,500 factory option brought carbon ceramic brakes presented with red callipers, a high-ratio steering rack, and a titanium, race-style exhaust system for the naturally aspirated, 5,748-cc V-12 engine rated at 533 horsepower to yield a top speed of 320 km/h. Further specification highlights include a carbon fibre finish for the instrument cluster, a carbon fibre steering wheel, and a body-coloured fuel filler cap rather than the more typical polished aluminium item.
Fit for its first owner, the Ferrari was finished on 16 December 2005 before being delivered new via Rosso Corsa Srl of Milan, Italy. It returned to the dealer in December 2008 for a 10,000-kilometre service (invoices available to view on file) before a new owner moved the car to the United Kingdom in 2012. Come December 2015, the Superamerica was acquired by a Belgian collector and tended to by Ferrari and Maserati agent, FMA NV of Wijnegem. A subsequent owner purchased the car in October 2021 before it was bought by the consignor in January 2023. Most recently, official Ferrari centre Charles Pozzi performed an extensive service in November 2024 at a cost of €4,183.
Configured for the connoisseur, this Superamerica is accompanied by its fitted Schedoni luggage set and tool kit. The car is further complemented by an imperial instrument cluster and right-hand-drive headlights from when the Ferrari was converted for use in the United Kingdom. The odometer displayed 15,555 kilometres at the time of cataloguing.
