After seven years, the Testarossa yielded its position to the 512 TR. Production commenced in April 1991, coinciding with the Testarossa's final stages on the assembly lines. The initial models were carefully stored for several months in anticipation of the official launch. Journalists were first introduced to it in Maranello on November 13, with a select group of dealers and owners receiving a preview later that month at the Salle Empereur of the Hôtel de Paris in Monaco. It made its public debut on January 2, 1992, at the Los Angeles Motor Show, followed by another European unveiling on the 14th at the Brussels Auto Show.
The one presented here is among the 1,853 units produced to European specifications. Crafted in 1994, it boasts standard ABS and notably, the Testarossa branding is absent from the engine cover. Additionally, the Pininfarina signature on the side is different from the one found on earlier models, now bearing the inscription Designo di. In fact, after 1,381 units with bodies manufactured at Pininfarina, the last 880 ones, including this one, were exclusively assembled in Maranello.
Remarkably, this car is equipped with optional two-piece wheels. Its exterior is adorned in Viola Hong Kong, although this hue deviates from the original. Recently, the vehicle underwent thorough maintenance at an authorized service center, encompassing a timing belt replacement.
