Beschreibung
This rare Ferrari 365GT4, only 524 examples were constructed between 1972 and 1976 was delivered to Qatar as one of the last examples built in 1976. In 1978 the elegant Coupé was acquired by the vendor‘s father directly from the Qatar royal family Al Thani and subsequently imported into Switzerland where it was first registered on the 28th of July of the same year. Shortly afterwards, in 1982, within 16’000 kilometres driven, the Ferrari was dry stored in a garage where it remained until 2020 when the car was finally taken over by the vendor. In order to be able to drive it again, several inactivity-related damages had to be corrected and the car was brought to a German classic car specialist. A partial revision of the engine which included new bearings, new piston rings, new timing chain and new gaskets was performed. The five speed gearbox was cleaned and inspected. The six twin Weber carburettors as well as the complete braking system and the dampers were overhauled. The coachwork was repainted in its original “Bianco Avus” and the doors and windows received new weather seals. The interior was thoroughly cleaned and refreshed and a stainless-steel exhaust system as well as four new tyres were fitted. All this work took over a year to complete and roughly 100’000 euros were invested before the 365 was handed back to the vendor in November 2021. Despite being resident in Asia by then, he finally achieved the fulfilment of his childhood dream to “drive such a car when I‘m grown up”. We therefore offer the chance to acquire a rare Ferrari from long term family ownership with only around 17’000 kilometres driven in very good condition. The gorgeous 2 + 2 Coupé will be handed over to a new enthusiast with the last Veteran MOT completed in December 2023.
