Beschreibung
Our car is a very desireable European delivered example which is in impressively good condition presented in its very attractive and unusual colour Blu Scuro Dino 20-A-357 Salchi which is the same colour in which the car left the factory on the 27th March 1971. Being designated to the Italian market this 365 GTB/4 has been delivered new to its first owner in Verona, Italy, shortly after the production in Maranello was completed.
After spending most of its life in Italy the car has been sold on the 19th of August 1992, via the dealership Garage BeauRivage SA which was based in Lausanne, to its last owner, a Swiss gentleman, who kept the car for a long period of time. At the time of the purchase the odometer showed a mileage of 87.250 km. Subsequently, the car has been registered in Switzerland under the new owner’s name with the registration plate ‘VD-40666’ since he was based in Rolle, a city which is located in the canton of Vaud. The car’s accompanying history folder contains several documents and invoices which demonstrate, that the car has been regularly maintained during its previous ownership. The history file to this car also includes a CD with pictures of the gearbox overhaul which was performed between October 2010 until April 2011 by the well known Swiss based brand specialist Edi Wyss.
On the 22nd November 2019 the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 has been presented to R. Bandieri, an expert and appraiser of the VCCSR – the Vétéran Car Club Suisse Romand – who performed an inspection of the car. Based on this examination this chassis was granted a FIVA identity card.
During his 29-year long ownership the car has been used only occasionally. When the last owner, who in the meantime had changed his place of residence to Céligny, a city located in the canton of Geneva, sold the car to B.I. Collection in August 2021 the odometer of the car displayed a total mileage of 102.000 km.
Shortly after B.I. Collection acquired the car the decision was taken to fully restore the car to the highest possible standard including a full respray of the car. While scraping of the layers of paint it became evident that the car has not always been red as some dark blue paint showed up underneath a couple of layers of red paint. Correspondence with the Ferrari Classiche department in Maranello revealed the fact, that the car has left the factory in the rare exterior colour Blu Scuro Dino. The restoration has been carried out on an extremely high level by leading brand experts in Switzerland, including OKTech GmbH. The cost of the restoration exceeds 310.000 CHF demonstrating the fact that no expense has been spared and zero compromises were made during the restoration of the car.
Today this matching numbers example is presented in a very desirable colour combination and fantastic condition which can be classified as like new since the aim was to bring the car back into a state which is similar to the car’s condition when it was delivered new in March 1971.
Currently the car is in the process of being certified by our own Ferrari Classiche officina in cooperation with the official Ferrari Classiche department in Maranello in order to obtaining its official Ferrari Classiche certification including the ‘red book’ proving that the car is in fully original condition. The car comes with a cancelled Swiss registration and offers the rare opportunity for those waiting
for just the ‘right’ Daytona in which to embark on new adventures.
