Chassis No. ZFFDU57A540134639

The Ferrari 360 Challenge was the third in a series of stripped-back racing cars designed specifically for the gentlemen-driven, one-make Ferrari Challenge series. It replaced the F355 Challenge, which itself replaced the original 348 Challenge, as the standard-bearer for the series and the ultimate in track-only performance from Maranello. Unlike its Challenge predecessors, however, the 360 Challenge was not a retrofitted upgrade kit, but a bona fide factory-built race car featuring dramatic lightweighting and performance improvements over its roadgoing counterpart.

At the 2003 Geneva Motor Show, a new model was announced that aimed to bring the Challenge's racing developments to the road. The name itself-Challenge "Stradale" meaning "road" in Italian-reflected its nature as a street-legal version of the track car. The new model achieved a 243-pound weight reduction compared to the standard 360 Modena through extensive use of carbon fiber components, including the floor pan, side mirrors, door panels, seat shells, and filter-box covers. The interior also reflected this purposeful lightweighting philosophy, eliminating non-essential elements like carpeting and floor mats in favor of focused, performance-oriented features such as a carbon fiber-enclosed instrument panel and a specially designed steering wheel.

The engine received a power increase to 425 horsepower at 8,500 rpm, making it Ferrari's most powerful naturally aspirated V8 at that time. While peak torque remained at 275 lb-ft at 4,750 rpm, the F1 electro-hydraulic transmission incorporated new control strategies and faster processing for improved gear changes. The Challenge Stradale's suspension was also greatly modified to incorporate titanium components and a larger diameter roll bar. Working in conjunction with carbon-ceramic brake discs from the Enzo and special 19-inch Challenge wheels, the Ferrari was more planted than its German rival, the 911 GT3. Car and Driver magazine noted in its comparison test of the two track specials, the Ferrari was "buttoned down, secure, undramatic."

The original warranty book shows that this 2003 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale was purchased new by Century Desert Holdings LLC on 20 November 2003 via Ferrari Beverly Hills. Finished in Nero without a stripe over a sporting Tessuto Racing Nero/Rosso Alcantara interior with optional red stitching, the car's no-frills specification also omitted a radio-staying true to the Stradale's purposeful, track-focused nature. The accompanying clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report shows that the Ferrari was briefly registered in Arizona before being sold to the consignor with approximately 150 miles and relocated to Georgia, where it has remained to the present day. The report also notes that the car was driven and serviced regularly, visiting Ferrari Maserati of Atlanta on several occasions over the years. Most recently, in June 2024 at 33,952 miles, the car received a major service including a timing belt change with new timing belt tensioners and bearings, as well as fresh fluids and four new Michelin Pilot Sport tires at a cost of over $12,000.

The 360 Challenge Stradale ranks among the most remarkable Ferrari models introduced during the early 2000s and kickstarted a lineage of track-focused special editions that continued with the 430 Scuderia, 458 Speciale and 488 Pista. Offered with its original tool kit, battery tender, and owner's manuals housed in their proper Schedoni leather carrying cases, this example would be ideally suited for enthusiastic road use, competitive track driving, and as an emerging collectible modern Ferrari.
