It often happens in our showroom that people say to a red Ferrari 328, "Look, that's Magnum P.I.'s car." We completely understand, but anyone taking a closer look will see the differences. In 1985, the 328 succeeded the 308. From then on, this Ferrari came equipped with a 3.2-liter engine producing 270 hp. Naturally, the 308 had undergone various upgrades beforehand, with the last version before the 328, the 308 Quattrovalvole, delivering 240 hp, but the 328 delivered even more.
We can essentially state that the origin of this line was the 308 GT4 2+2 from 1973. This GT4 succeeded the Ferrari 246 GT Dino at the time. Bertone's new 308 was incredibly modern for its time and wasn't immediately well-received by everyone. However, everyone agreed that the performance of the 3.0-liter V8 was excellent for that era. In 1975, the 308 GTB followed, which naturally resembles the 328. Built on a shorter wheelbase, the stunning 308 GTB marked a return to a design that could only come from Pininfarina.
In 1985, the 308 was succeeded by the 328 GTB. By increasing both the bore and stroke, the capacity of the Quattrovalvole engine was raised to 3,186cc, which, along with a higher compression ratio, different pistons, and an updated engine management system, increased the maximum power to 270 hp. The top speed was raised to nearly 258 km/h, and the sprint to 100 km/h (which is about 62 mph) was completed in just over 5.5 seconds. Those are impressive numbers! The body received several features from the Ferrari Testarossa, including molded bumpers with side lights and indicators, a different rear bumper, and a roof spoiler.
This Ferrari was delivered to its first German owner on May 21, 1987. Therefore, it is an original European Ferrari. The owner opted for the Targa version, also known as the GTS, in the color scheme Rosso Corsa Ferrari (300) with Magnolia leather upholstery. The included documentation includes the original manual and service book. Additionally, a valuation report is available. There are also numerous invoices showing that this 328 received the necessary maintenance from a renowned Ferrari specialist in recent years. The last owner had this Ferrari for ten years.
The bodywork is in good condition and looks great. The hood closes neatly, as do the doors and the roof. The headlights and wheels are in good condition. The paint is in beautiful condition, showing only light signs of use, which is nothing unusual given the car's age and mileage.
The interior is upholstered in Magnolia leather with beige carpets. The leather is supple and in good condition. The instruments and controls are all in very good condition and look very nice and well-kept. The Targa roof seals are also in excellent condition. The roof is easy to operate and can be stored behind the seats, so you won't be caught off guard by a sudden rain shower. An additional advantage of the Targa roof is the beautiful contrast with the Rosso Corsa paint.
The mechanics have been very well maintained over the years. The 3.2-liter engine is mounted transversely at the rear and delivers 270 hp. The engine is equipped with Bosch fuel injection and responds very directly to the throttle. The sound of the eight-cylinder engine right behind you is unmatched and typically Ferrari. The engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission that shifts precisely and has pleasant gear ratios. In short, a beautiful Ferrari 328 GTS in a stunning color scheme and in good condition.
