[[NOTICE: please note this car is now pending sale. You are still welcome to contact us and be part of the car's waiting list, in case the sale does not materialize]]
Originally competing against the Lamborghini Urraco and the Maserati Merak, the GT4 occupies a special place in Ferrari history as their very first mid-engined V8 car. Sold under the Dino brand, it was Penned by Marcello Gandini, father of the Miura and the Countach, and it is one of a handful of times where Ferrari would collaborate with Bertone in their design, giving the car its unique ‘wedge’ styling.
Using a space frame and incorporating a 2+2 seating layout, the GT4 proved to be a splendid sports GT with sharp handling and excellent road manners, thanks to its short wheelbase, 240/255 horsepower engine, and gated shifter manual gearbox. A two-liter ‘tax saver’ variant, unique to the Italian market, made its debut in 1976 and still remains the smallest engine to ever be put in any Ferrari.
This superb USA example comes from long-time Ferrarista ownership, and has been extensively modified by Carobu Engineering to 3.5 litres and 270 horsepower. Mechanically sorted and exhilarating to drive, this car won’t disappoint in its performance, looks, or documentation —to boot, it still remains a full numbers-matching example.
