Beschreibung
“When Enzo Ferrari appointed Pininfarina to design a Gran Turismo with a racy look, instructed Carrozzeria Scaglietti to develop a worthy chassis and topped it off with the successful Colombo engine, success was imminent.”
The 250 GT/E was the first four-seater Ferrari to be produced on a larger scale. In total, 957 of them were build. Fitted with the legendary Tipo 250 single overhead camshaft, 3-litre V12 engine. “Not only a great touring car, but also a prestigious one”. Enzo Ferrari loved this 2+2 as a personal car. He usually drove the car himself, but he was always accompanied by his dog and a chauffeur so just two seats wasn’t enough.
Wanderlust is the ideal starting point for a journey, and this Ferrari one of the best means to travel. It is quick, comfortable and it sticks to the road. Driving this car is therapeutic and addictive at the same time. It’s the perfect machine for those who opt for the scenery road. For those who value the drive as much as the destination.
The sound of revving is like the cheering of the engine. Who needs a radio? Steering is precise and suspension firm but agreeable. And you can share the experience with family or friends in the classy cabin and take ample luggage for a picnic or a holiday in the spacious boot. Andiamo!
The iconic Ferrari 250 made huge waves on the circuits in its days, wrapping up victories everywhere. Today, the 250GTO and the 250GT SWB are a league on their own, especially when it comes to breaking record prices up to 70 million Euro’s. However, the 250GT/E shares most of the design DNA, drive train and Ferrari exclusivity for a fraction of the investment.
Our car with chassis number 4693GT was delivered new on the 10th of June 1963 to Mr. Gino Maggi by Ferrari Roma. According to the Ferrari Classiche production data, the gentleman had chosen Grigio Fumo for the exterior and Pelle Rossa for the interior. After two other owners and totalling 89.200Km, the 2+2 is acquired in 2012 by Cecil Cars who undertakes a professional restoration. They also redo the interior in Connolly hide Pelle Beige to a very high standard.
In 2015 mechanical parts of the car are revised by Pozzi Neubauer where it is listed for sale later on. The current lady owner enjoys regularly but sparingly this very original, well maintained and continuously serviced car. A career shift resulting in even less time to enjoy her 250GT/E, brings you this opportunity. Take it.
