Beschreibung
Silvio Gmaberini of Bologna took delivery of chassis #1977 in 1960, the car was painted Grigio Fumo with a Nero interior, wooden steering wheel and passenger headrest, (exactly how the car is presented today) and was equipped with disc brakes, the outside plug engine with two distributors and a four speed gearbox with overdrive. The car retains all of these components and as a result qualified for Classiche Certification in 2014.
Gamberini sold the car to Dr George Kneller who was in Europe on military service at the time, who then shipped the PF back to the USA. In 1973 the car was then sold by Kneller to another Doctor named John Bukovnik with an odometer reading of 24,000 miles. Over the next 30 years in Bukovnik’s ownership the car was kept in storage up until he sadly passed away, leading to the car being sold which had covered just 170 miles since he had purchased it. Greg Brendel of Dallas, Texas took ownership of #1977 in 2002 and some significant mechanical work was then carried out but the cars cosmetic appearance remained original and well preserved. As a result, this led the car to receive a Silver Class Award at the 2006 Cavalliano Classic in Palm Beach, FL. Having 5 Ferrari’s at the time, Brendel was a prominent collector.
The car was then purchased by a good friend of Bendel in 2012 who owned several special Ferrari’s including a Lusso, F40 and 330 GTC etc. The gentleman then imported the car to the UK.
The PF’s current owner purchased the car in 2013 when the previous keeper decided he wanted a 275 GTB in 2013. The car was inspected by Tony Willis, following which it qualified for Ferrari Classiche Certification.
The car is presented today in its factory, unmolested specification and holds the perfect balance between condition and originality. Complete with an extensive history folder, Ferrari Classiche and its original keys, this beautiful example drives wonderfully but still possesses its originality.
